Juverderm Vollure

Brooke Bentley, FNP, B.C. owner and lead practitioner of Advanced Medicine & Aesthetics is an Allergan national trainer.

She is happy to now begin offering Allergan’s newest product Juvederm Vollure™ XC.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC injectable gel is for injection into the facial tissue, specifically tailored with a balance of gel firmness and low cohesivity, yielding a versatile formulation that adds subtle volume for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (also known as marionette lines) in adults over the age of 21.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC is formulated with Allergan’s proprietary VYCROSS® technology, which blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, contributing to the gel’s duration. This advanced technology yields an injectable product that delivers a long-lasting result, up to 18 months, that patients appreciate.

What Happens During Juvederm Vollure™ Treatment?

Juvederm Vollure™ is a hyaluronic acid filler which is injected into targeted areas of the face with a fine gauge needle. During your treatment, your practitioner will make injections into specific areas surrounding the nose, mouth, and/or jaw to smooth the appearance of laugh lines and marionette lines. You may experience slight discomfort from the needle during treatment; a numbing topical agent can be applied prior to Juvederm Vollure™ treatment for your comfort. The entire procedure will last only a few minutes; procedure length will vary depending on the number of injections needed to provide the results you desire.

Where Can Juvederm Vollure™ Be Applied?

Juvederm Vollure™ is designed for facial enhancement, specifically to treat nasolabial folds. It is used to reduce lines and wrinkles, increase volume, and contour. Juvederm Vollure™ can be applied to correct the appearance of: Nasolabial folds, called laugh lines, which extend from the edge of the nostril down to the mouth’s corners “Marionette lines,” which are an extension of nasolabial folds that run down to the jawline

Is Juvederm Vollure™ Right for Me?

During your initial consultation with a practitioner at Advanced Medicine & Aesthetics, they will examine your facial features and determine if Juvederm Vollure™ is the right injectable filler for your treatment. If you have deep nasolabial folds which detract from the youthful appearance you desire, Juvederm Vollure™ may be right for you.

What is Juvederm Vollure™?

Juvéderm Vollure™ XC is the newest addition to the Juverderm® collection of fillers. Vollure™ uses special technology, known as Vycross; which is also used in Juvéderm Voluma™ XC and Juvéderm Volbella™ XC which holds the hyaluronic acid together into a cohesive gel, which keeps it intact after it’s injected into the skin. The Vycross technology links both high and low molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, compared to Juvederm’s Hylacross technology which uses various degrees of cross-linking of mainly high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. In non-medical terms, that means that the mixture of high and low hyaluronic acid in the Vycross technology creates a more connected gel, which can be molded, effectively lifting sunken skin sitting above it. Vollure sits in that sweet spot where it is firm enough to fill the line, but soft enough to move naturally with facial expression. Another major difference between Juvéderm and the new Juvéderm Vollure XC is that the new formula produces minimal swelling, which means shorter recovery time.

What lines are Juvederm Vollure good for?

Laugh Lines (Parentheses lines) are static lines that appear around your nose and mouth when your face is at rest. This happens over time as your skin loses some of the building blocks (hyaluronic acid and collagen) that give the skin its structure.Marionette Lines HorizontalChin Lines

What are common side effects?

Common side effects include redness at the injection-site, swelling, pain, bruising, tenderness, lumps/bumps, discoloration and itching. These side effects are usually mild in nature and subsided after a few days. As with all procedures that involve an injection through the skin, there is a risk of infection.
